Smart refrigeration: Food preservation at the lowest cost as a pathway towards decarbonization

Improvement comes from defining an energy and operational strategy supported by predictive maintenance. This allows moving away from traditional refrigeration models (with no data and 100 % onsite maintenance) to a refrigeration model with 70 % self-executing actions and effective energy management.

Session description

Currently, the most efficient cooling solutions on the market are R-717 and R-744. Therefore, for companies equipped with such installations, optimizing mechanical consumption is challenging. Thus, in the face of mature refrigeration technologies, the only way to continue improving is to define an operational strategy supported by new technologies.

There are various issues derived from industrial and commercial refrigeration:
There are product losses due to malfunctions in the cold rooms.
Energy costs increase because the cooling system does not operate optimally and during cheaper periods. Increases the negative impact on the environment.
Maintenance is done manually without data, and 70 % of it occurs after a failure.
