Chillventa 2022: industry reunion in person and on site in Nuremberg

Just over a month ahead of the event, we caught up with Elke Harreiss, Executive Director Chillventa at NürnbergMesse, to talk about what Chillventa has to offer this year.

Ms Harreiss, what can trade visitors look forward to at Chillventa this year?

Elke Harreiss: Because this will be the first on-site Chillventa since 2018, we are of course especially excited about the response from the industry and eager to see how the event will go. When the preparations started, we got a clear sense that our customers are really longing to meet one another in person, chat, and network face-to-face again. Further confirmation was provided by the successful events we held in the spring at the Nuremberg exhibition venue. We had incredibly positive feedback from all parties about how lovely it was, and how important, to finally talk in person again to get projects on track. Trade fairs offer the ideal platforms for doing business like this.

Accordingly, Chillventa is also going well. Currently, we are expecting around 800 exhibiting companies from more than 40 countries to come to the Nuremberg exhibition venue in October. Finally, the industry is getting to meet again in Nuremberg, in person and on site.

What’s new at Chillventa?

Elke Harreiss: We are confident that there will be a lot to discover at Chillventa in October. In 2022, the experts are set to be impressed yet again by the product presentations by exhibitors and the supporting programme. The exhibiting companies will present their new products and solutions, and the latest trends in the industry, to professionals from the refrigeration, AC, ventilation and heat pump segments. Anyone who would like an initial overview in advance can now go to the new exhibitor and product section on our website and put together their own personal agenda for their visit to the exhibition: www.chillventa.de/en/exhibitors-products

On the exhibition floors, the focus will then once again be on direct exchanges with numerous experts and qualified suppliers from all around the world. One item in the supporting programme that will be of particular interest to tradespeople is the forum “A practical guide to digitisation for craftspeople”, which makes its debut this year in Hall 8. Trades-based businesses can head here to get practical tips on digitalising their business operations and workflows. But refrigeration and AC contractors will also find a lot of valuable tips and interesting presentations in the three exhibitor forums. These are just two examples of the kind of content that the Chillventa community can look forward to.

What are the key themes at Chillventa 2022?

Elke Harreiss: Chillventa is known for being a barometer of trends and in 2022 will be unrivalled worldwide yet again for its comprehensive coverage of the crucial issues and hot topics from the refrigeration, AC, ventilation and heat pump segments.

In the supporting programme and at many exhibitor stands, the spotlight will be on the topic of sustainability. Other key themes are the energy performance of refrigeration systems, the circular economy, indoor air quality, indirect cooling, digitalisation and IT security.

What highlights does the supporting programme offer industry professionals?

Elke Harreiss: As already mentioned, the new forum “A practical guide to digitisation for craftspeople” will certainly be an event that tradespeople in particular should make a note of in their schedules. There are also three other thematically structured exhibitor forums: The forum in Hall 4A covers “AC, Ventilation and Heat Pumps”, Hall 7A focuses on ‘Refrigeration Technology’, and Hall 9 will attract all those with an interest in “Applications, Training and Codes of Practice”. In these forums, consisting of more than 160 presentations by experts, around 90 exhibitors will provide compact, practice-driven insights.

The supporting programme is complemented by special presentations and guided tours around the exhibition. Hall 4 is the venue for the special presentation “Insights into the handling of flammable refrigerants (R290)”, while Hall 4A focuses on “Heat Pumps”. Or you can join a guided tour pinpointing innovations in refrigeration, AC and ventilation. Incidentally, there are also guided tours specifically for trainees and apprentices.

We are particularly looking forward to one highlight: As part of the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition, which will be held decentralized this year, the competition in the discipline of refrigeration and air-conditioning technology will take place at Chillventa for one time only. All visitors are cordially invited to cheer on the participating skilled workers in Hall 3, and of course also to drop by at the Federal Skills Competition in Hall 9!

And last but not least, at the Chillventa CONGRESS, which takes place the day before the exhibition, high-calibre speakers will share their knowledge from research, development and industrial practice.

There is definitely something suitable on offer for all industry players! We look forward to welcoming you to Chillventa 2022, in keeping with our event motto “Connecting Experts”.
