From Standard rating to real world Performance : Development of ECC/CTI global certification scheme for Dry and adiabatic cooler

Refrigeration performance is usually tested in independent labs under standard conditions ensuring repeatability, but not reflecting real operation. Eurovent is evolving its certification by integrating market conditions and field validation to deliver more realistic and trustworthy results.

Session description

In the European refrigeration and process cooling market, the performance of Refrigerated Display Cabinets (RDC) and heat rejection equipment is traditionally assessed using standardized rating conditions defined in European standards. These conditions ensure repeatability and comparability of test results within certification schemes, but they are not representative of real operating environments.

As systems become more complex and operate under a wide range of conditions, relying solely on standardized ratings is no longer sufficient to support informed decision-making. Eurovent is therefore expanding the scope of refrigeration certification schemes to go beyond this traditional framework by integrating performance data under “market ...
