The use of many HFCs currently used in refrigerating systems has come under increased scrutiny and is being questioned due to their higher GWP. There is currently a worldwide effort to reduce and/or eliminate high GWP refrigerants and to replace them with suitable low GWP alternative options that are also efficient, safe, cost effective and well suited for the intended application.
One such refrigerant being replaced is R-410A, which is the most common refrigerant used today in residential, light commercial and other A/C applications. R-410A is currently being phased down in several areas of the world and will be eventually phased out completely. This will leave a need for short/long term replacements to fill its void.
