In various industrial facilities, chilling and heating were considered separately in the past. For example, there are well established structures in which a chiller with dry cooler is installed directly next to a gas burner.
In the interests of increased overall efficiency and the defossilization of the industrial energy demand, it is essential to consider the heat supply in a future cooling installation or even in a retrofit.
This presentation will illustrate the basic considerations of a combined efficiency of cooling and heating compared to standard solutions.
Furthermore, the possibilities of a combination in new systems as well as in retrofits, such as a cascade of chiller and Heat Pump, will be presented.
