The presentation gives a short view only on the fluoropolymers being PFAS in components. The necessity comes from compatibility and long functional lifetime requirements when applying refrigerants and oils in the systems. Search for replacements and redesign is active, but for several functional parts still no solution is found. Still two solutions for end of life of the small amounts used, are possible. One is collecting and recycling. When recycling steel and cast iron, small parts, that usually are disassembled but might be forgotten, are completely destroyed and no longer PFAS. Availability of the cooling or heating function is crucial in many applications. Thus the reliability of the components is very important.
