Description

Environmental regulations are driving the adoption of refrigerants with lower GWP. With a GWP of 1, the natural refrigerant R-744 is a proven alternative to higher-GWP HFC refrigerants. Also, R-744 intrinsic energy efficiency in most climates allows it to deliver direct and indirect emissions reductions. Danfoss is at the forefront of decarbonization efforts to help the industry transition from legacy high-GWP HFC systems and has always prioritized system efficiency, simplicity, and reliability.

By combining low-GWP R-744 refrigerant with intelligent technologies such as continuous cooling demand matching via variable speed, the iCO2 condensing unit range will help our customers to reduce both their direct and indirect emissions, which lowers the TEWI of their refrigeration systems, making it a futureproof solution compliant to upcoming Ecodesign and F-GAS requirements. Compared to legacy HFC systems, R-744 has unique characteristics such as high pressures hence R-744 systems need their own specific architecture, control logic and programming requirements.

The presentation will demonstrate how Danfoss iCO2 is simplifying the adoption of transcritical R-744 refrigeration via the seamless integration of system components and strategies that greatly simplify commissioning and system management during standard operation, reducing the stress from technicians, and providing peace of mind to end users, thanks to iCO2 connectivity with the industry benchmark Danfoss System Manager supporting accurate monitoring of food safety.

Danfoss iCO2 condensing unit portfolio covers from 2.5 kW to 40 kW. Danfoss has launched 5 kW model in 2021 and there is more to come in matter of models and sizes. Decades of application expertise and experience from millions of condensing units running flawlessly across the globe is a testimony that Danfoss is committed to reliability. Danfoss iCO2 units are designed for utmost safety and certified by renowned notified bodies for all the EU regulations and Directives and will meet all your current and future refrigeration requirements.
