Armaturenwerk Altenburg (AWA) was founded in 1879 and has over 140 years’ experience in the development and manufacture of components for refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems. Based in Altenburg, Thuringia, the company offers a wide range of shut-off, non-return, solenoid and expansion valves, as well as high-quality sight glasses. The portfolio also includes bespoke solutions and accessories. AWA stands for precision and quality, and its products are used in a variety of applications – including those utilising natural refrigerants. AWA has been part of the BITZER Group since 2013. In 2025, its 200 employees generated a turnover of 30 million euros.
