R-474B an A2L, ultra-low GWP refrigerant for R-AC-HP applications
The EU F-Gas Regulation mandates a reduction in F-gas quotas to ~5% of the 2015 baseline by 2030. Hence future refrigerants require a GWP < 10.
Tests demonstrate the suitability of the new blend R-474B with GWP < 1 for use in a commercially available monobloc HP designed for R-454C.

Session description
The 2024 EU F-Gas Regulation mandates a drastic reduction in available F-gas quotas to approximately 5% of the 2015 baseline level by the year 2030. In the long term, refrigerants with a GWP < 10 will be required to meet these stringent requirements.
For the AC/HP sector, R-290 is available in some applications; however, due to its increased flammability, it cannot be used in certain applications for safety reasons according to existing safety standards and building codes. Current A2L refrigerants capable of covering these applications, however, have a GWP ~150.
This presentation introduces R-474B as a new A2L refrigerant with a GWP < 1. Test results demonstrate the suitability of this new refrigerant for use in a commercially available mon ...
