Future-ready district heating above 100 °C with high temperature industrial heat pumps

Discover how modular VQ industrial heat pumps can decarbonize district heating above 100 °C. A representative case study shows nearly 10 MW of efficient, grid-responsive heat from a 40 °C source, with strong part-load performance for real network demands.

Session Beschreibung

District heating networks are under pressure to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining reliable, high-temperature supply. Many brownfield systems across Europe still need water above 80 °C due to legacy pipework, flow limits and existing customer requirements. High-temperature industrial heat pumps now provide a practical path forward.
Filip Nielsen and Vatsal Shah will present how modular VQ industrial heat pumps with Vilter single-screw compressor technology support future-ready district heating above 100 °C. The session focuses on scalable architecture, high efficiency and flexible operation across changing seasonal loads. It also addresses a growing need for grid-responsive assets that can adapt power consumption quickly while keeping heat delivery stable.
