What a 30 % Heat Exchanger performance Gap means for commercial refrigeration system

Testing campaigns on non-certified Heat exchanger reveal more than 30% performance gaps vs claimed values. This study shows how 30% underperformance impacts refrigeration systems, increasing energy use, costs, and emissions, and highlights the critical role of certified, verified performance data.

Session Beschreibung

Recent investigations conducted within the Eurovent Certification framework have revealed significant discrepancies between claimed and measured performance of heat rejection equipment from non-certified manufacturers, including air-cooled condensers and CO₂ gas coolers. In several cases, performance gaps exceeding 30% have been identified, raising critical concerns about the reliability of some of non verified product data by independent body, used in system design and specification.
This presentation focuses on the system-level impact of such underperformance. Based on representative refrigeration applications, it demonstrates how a performance shortfall at component level translates into higher condensing temperatures and pressures, leading to increased compressor workload. The ...
