The refrigerant shift

F-Gases phase-down in refrigeration and air conditioning applications. Substitution of HFCs (R-410A, R-404A, etc.) with low-GWP refrigerants. New synthetic and natural refrigerants, HFC and HFO blends, R-32, R-744 (CO2), R-717 (ammonia), hydrocarbons, HFO-1234yf/ze/za, secondary refrigerants.
- Certification of personnel and companies on alternative and natural refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioning at international level; safe handling of flammable refrigerants
- New technology in RAC components and plants. Developing new components, systems, solutions in light of pollution reduction and energy saving. Renewable energies, energy efficiency, ecodesign Centro Studi Galileo (CSG) is the most renowned training centre in Italy and one of the leading in Europe and around the world for education and information in the sector of refrigeration, air conditioning and renewable energies.
CSG cooperates with United Nation Agencies (UNEP, UNIDO, UNDP), the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIF-IIR) and the Association of Contractors AREA, especially delivering the “European Conference on the latest technology in air conditioning and refrigeration”; an added value to this Chillventa symposium are the lessons learned during the last EU Conference held in 2021, such as:
- Renewable energy will be essential in the de-carbonization, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, heat pumps
- Refrigerant options are a finite number and will be all mildly or highly flammables with few exceptions
- Safety devices are becoming more important in the selection of the components
- IOT, remote servicing will be the future, the pandemic made it quicker to happen
