Beschreibung

The current political situation forced large and urgently needed changes on the energy market especially on the heat pump market in Germany and Europe in general. It significantly accelerated already started changes, and the run for heat pumps has increased dramatically as market growth data show.

Here detailed knowledge on the characteristics of the market development are valuable for stakeholders for the HP sector. In this contribution market data originated from German funding schemes like MAP, BEG, and KfW funding programs were analyzed. To analyze market data a large database is needed for several thousand heat pump models. These were generated out of publicly available catalogue data as well as product databases.

We start with an overview to what share the amount of sold heat pumps belongs. This could either be “freely” sold systems (no subsidization) or subsidized purchases based on several but different funding programs from what only MAP (until 2020) and afterwards the BEG funding scheme data were available for the evaluation of sold units. If possible, data from German market from 2021 and 2022 will be included. We show how the part of the market related to the subsidized heat pump market has developed technically over the last years and what characteristics and trends can be associated with it.

This will comprise performance figures like energy efficiency, sound emissions or parameters like size, weight, compressor types, used oil types, amount of offered heat pumps per type etc. These data could be used to benchmark individual and active HP development projects. Methods and visualizations developed therefor will be discussed during the talk. Results of current HP development projects for R-290 and HFOs currently taking place or recently be finished at Fraunhofer ISE will be presented. Where and whenever possible the elaborated benchmarks will be presented to show its usability.
