R-744 Scroll compressors for efficient and cost optimized Booster systems

With the New R-744 Copeland Scroll Compressors, Emerson wants to make R-744 more affordable for small supermarkets, discounters and convenience stores. The main target application being the R-744 Booster racks, with Medium Temperature cooling capacity from 20 up 100 kW and Low Temperature cooling capacity from 4 up to 50 kW.
The Dynamic Vapor Injection (DVI) Technology used together in the Scroll compressors allows to make R-744 Booster with a very simple design for all climates, no need for parallel compressor anymore while achieving similar or even higher seasonal performances. The New R-744 Copeland scroll compressors features variable speed BPM technology, providing even higher performance than what is traditionally available on the market. For Low Temperature application, there is a flexible choice of high or standard standstill pressures. Compressors come in a solution package, which includes dedicated drives (already matched and optimized for the application), the XC-Pro Rack controller, specifically designed for the DVI R-744 Scroll technology plus many other components like valves, oil management OM5..., There will be some focus on the controller, the brain of the solution, it optimizes the system performance, ensures safe operations (crucial to ensure food quality), communicates with the store building management system. Presentation will outline the technology benefits together with some case study, showing some side benefits, like compactness, low sound & vibration. R-744 adoption in Commercial refrigeration will make one step ahead with that new technology.
