An eagle eye for Airflow Monitoring
KRIWAN presents new solutions for airflow control in air conditioning and ventilation technology
At Chillventa, KRIWAN is presenting the new INT511 airflow sensor, which is used in inlet and exhaust air systems for ventilation and climate control within buildings.
Air conditioning technology does not simply provide buildings with fresh air. In many systems, the air is also pretreated with filtering, heating, cooling, and humidification or dehumidification. A certain minimum airflow is necessary in order to ensure the fresh air supply and functionality of the pretreatments.
Exhaust air systems provide a considerable reduction in harmful contaminants in the air and energy savings via systems for recovery of heat or cold. The effectiveness of exhaust air systems is dependent on minimum airflows. The INT511 airflow monitor keeps an eye on the speed of airflows in the relevant area according to the calorimetric measurement system and thus ensures reliable and safe operation of the system. The sensor works in a temperature-compensated manner, and the switching point within the monitored area can be set via an integrated potentiometer.
The INT511 airflow monitor starts with a start-up bypass time that can be individually set. This ensures that all the components of the system and the airflow generated are engaged before the monitoring is activated. This function makes the integration of additional timing relays superfluous and thus, in combination with the simple connection technology, saves costs and the associated cabling outlay. Different formats, such as various probe lengths up to 500 mm, adjustable immersion depth, simple channel assembly, and, in particular, the directional independence of the airflow monitor, ensure safe and standardized installation. The INT511 is maintenance-free, as its probe head is completely closed, meaning contamination of the measurement element is impossible. A multicolored LED provides information about the current operational status. Functionality has been combined with a sophisticated design in the development of the INT511. It takes both ambient conditions and user-friendliness into account. Within the company, the result has been given the name “Eye of Argus” – a sensor that is always vigilant and that misses nothing.
