The Oxyvap® is a highly efficient direct evaporative cooling pad for use in compact adiabatic cooling and humidification systems. It can be used for adiabatic cooling in a ventilation system during the summer, to pre-cool the air for the condenser coil in conventional AC units or as a humidifier in an air handling unit during the winter.

Designed for easily scalable application, the Oxyvap® is a robust and reliable evaporative medium with integrated water distribution and collection, set in an aluminum frame. Its modular design and plug & play functionality offers the flexibility to accommodate for a wide range of airflow capacities while maintaining high performance levels.

Unique finned structure

The Oxyvap® is based upon our patented water-retaining finned aluminum sheets designed for maximum evaporation. At an air velocity of 2 m/s (394 fpm), it reaches a saturation efficiency of 90 percent with an air pressure drop of just 44 Pa (0.18 inAq).

The unique structure of the high-quality aluminum fins ensures a continuous self-cleaning process that prevents the buildup of dirt, mold or calcium deposits, a common problem in cellulose-based evaporative media. Paper cooling pads typically have a saturation efficiency of 70 percent, will cause a pressure drop of at least 75 Pa (0.30 inAq) and are highly susceptible to dirt accumulation, including fungi and algae that may pose serious health risks.

Hygienics 

Hygiene is a hot item when it comes to evaporative media. The Oxyvap® meets the VDI 6022 guidelines for ventilation and indoor air quality. VDI is the German Association of Engineers and one of Germany’s most important regulatory bodies. The VDI Ventilation Code of Practice contains the requirements for HVAC systems regarding design, manufacture, operation and maintenance to ensure hygienic operation.

In air handling units, the Oxyvap® can be applied for humidification and adiabatic cooling. In a high-pressure spray system for air humidification, it can function as a droplet eliminator. In traditional air conditioning, it is highly effective in the pre-cooling of air before it enters the condenser coil, improving results in terms of energy use, equipment stress and cooling performance.
