20 years of manufacturing experience and continual technical improvements have led to the development of a series of Fin Lines (FL) suitable to meet any requirement in the production of thin fins in aluminum, copper, steel and stainless steel, used to build heat exchangers for air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, heat recovery and heat rejection. The fin lines are based on a complete range of fast mechanical presses (PR) of new design from 35 to 160 tons with a useful ribbon width passage of up to 850mm. In conjunction with the presses, CMS has acquired manifold in-depth experience building forming dies (ST) dedicated to the mechanical molding of thin ribbons that can produce any fin profile with optimized solutions. The precision of machining and the correct tolerances, together with the particular care used in assembling of the drawing station and an efficient lubrication, guarantee the production of high collars with minimum fin thickness. In order to simplify maintenance, the forming die design is as standard with a die holder plate and independent sub-die sections. Recently, CMS introduced a new die for oval tubes, that represents the most effective technical solution to maximise the thermal performance of air to liquid finned heat exchangers. This solution reduces drastically the air side pressure drop increasing the overall heat transfer capacity and allowing energy saving of axial fans. In the design of its fin lines, CMS has focused in particular on operation reliability, simplicity of use, reduction in set-up times for operating parameters and an easy access of both the press and the forming die to perform routine and non-routine maintenance. The balance of masses in movement and the correct distribution of weights allow the positioning of the fin line on industrial type flooring with no need to prearrange special foundations.
