We keep improving and customizing the shape of our Handy One wires (round, rectangular, triangular) in multiple rings dimensions to prevent joint overflow and ensure consistent joint quality.
Aluminum coated preforms are our latest solution for brazing aluminum components. Lucas-Milhaupt can provide flux coated aluminum shims, washers and rings for improved aluminum brazing. Flux coated aluminum braze preforms eliminate a separate-flux operation, reduce cycle time, and improve joint strength and quality. With our unique flux coating process technology, we can flux coat unique shapes and sizes that are cannot be flux-cored. Examples include saddle joints, tube-to-valve joints, and bracket joints.
Self-Fluxing Copper/Phosphorus and Silver/Phosphorous Brazing Alloys
If you are brazing copper components our range of standard SILFOSFORUS and FOS-FLO® alloys are available in various forms (wire, rod, ring, disc, washer, etc… ). These copper based filler metals are self-fluxing on copper by virtue of their phosphorous content. Because of their self-fluxing nature, you save time and money by eliminating the steps necessary to flux before brazing. The phosphorous content changes the fluidity and ductility of the material. The higher the % of phosphorous in the filler metal the higher the fluidity of the filler metal. While this family of alloys is widely used in air conditioning and plumbing applications it is not for use on ferrous or nickel based components because the joint would become brittle and may fail. FOS-FLO® alloys have many of the same characteristics of the SILFOSFORUS alloys, except that they are free from silver, which significantly reduces the price of the filler metal.
