A close relationship with the customer and quality are not just business axioms but standards we have to live up to on a daily basis. Founded in 1910, ZIEHL-ABEGG made a trendsetting breakthrough in the 1950s with the development of the external rotor motor for fan drives. Since then, the principle has been optimised and transferred to many new applications.

Today, ZIEHL-ABEGG is a global trendsetter. With motors, fans and control systems, ZIEHL-ABEGG has built up an outstanding reputation and is now a market leader in important fields such as elevator drive motors. Wherever there is an elevator or escalator in motion, there is in most cases a ZIEHL-ABEGG motor working in the background. But there is also a global demand for high quality products “made in Künzelsau” in sectors such as ventilation technology (for example in the air-conditioning systems for large building and industrial complexes) and for electronic control systems for infinitely variable fan speed control in agricultural, air-conditioning, cleanroom and refrigeration technology. ZIEHL-ABEGG control systems fulfil the most demanding requirements with regard to positional accuracy and ride comfort for passengers and freight elevators, storage and retrieval vehicles, cranes and conveyor systems.

With 1500 employees at the main plant in Künzelsau and the subsidiary plants in Bieringen and near Waldenburg, in the Hohenlohe industrial estate, ZIEHL-ABEGG is one of the largest employers in Hohenlohe. Subsidiaries, production facilities, representative offices and business partners in more than 30 countries around the world ensure the electro-technical products made on the Kocher and Jagst rivers access to global markets. Our continually expanding, dense sales network stretches form Australia to Canada, from Scandinavia to South Africa, from Great Britain to China.
