The air quality sensor measures the CO concentration of the ambient air in the range of 0-1000 ppm by an electrochemical sensor and the air temperature from 0...+50°C. The transducer converts the measurement values for further processing in a linear output signal 0-10 V or 4-20 mA. The transducer has 3 different scales (0-200 ppm, 0-500 ppm, 0-1000 ppm) which can be adjusted by innovative DIP switch technology. The zero-point adjustment in response to the current environmental conditions can be made by manual calibration on the device. The air quality sensor runs in regular intervals an automatic re-calibration procedure, whereby a long-term stable CO measurement is ensured.

After switch-on of the device it runs a self-test and the zero-point calibration. This process takes, depending on ambient conditions, about 10 minutes. Within this time, the linear output signal deviates from the actual measured value.
To ensure an excellent long-term stability, in the interval of 7 days the device runs an automatic recalibration. Through this automatic calibration possible drifts are compensated. Within this interval must be at least 1x fresh air with 0 ppm CO be present. This feature can be disabled on the device by DIP switch.
The manual calibration of the output signal to 0 ppm (zero point) will be started by pushing the button on the circuit board (push ca. 5 s until LED is blinking). Before this it is to ensure a non-stop operating of min. 10 minutes on fresh air. After successful calibration the LED will be deactivated.
