CROSS LINKED CLOSED CELL POLYETHYLENE FOAM (PE-X) FOR THERMAL AND ACOUSTIC INSULATION.
ZETAESSE SpA Established in 1973 by Cav. Luigi Vittorio Zecchin, Zetaesse immediately gives a turning to the standard plumbing technique by introducing the first pre-insulated copper tube named "CUPEX", the brand that gave start to the "energy saving" era.
Step by step, the range of products Zetaesse has been steadily expanded and diversified to meet the new requirements in terms of installation. Among the "milestones" we recall the introduction in 1992 of "CUPEX GEL", the first coated copper tube for air conditioning, and the patent in 1996 of "HydroSAN" a revolutionary high-performaing pipe, fruit of the union of copper and PE-X.
The nineties represent the period of greatest growth and development, growth getting to its best in 1997 when, thanks to the joint venture with Feinrohren, Zetaesse becomes an integral part of an industrial group that gets to move a total turnover of 60.000 Tons / year.
The ten-year partnership with Feinrohren (leading worldwide manufacturer of copper capillary tubes) have consolidated the image of a brand that, thanks to its 30-year warranty, is unanimously recognized and appreciated for its quality and reliability. With its 20,000 m2 of covered production Zetaesse has never failed on its long tradition of research, reliability and attention to its customer demand.
Throughout its history Zetaesse boasts of being the first in several technological innovations. In this development, trying to meet the demands of a changing and evolving market, Zetaesse decides today to address two "bets" looking at two completely new areas: the production of crosslinked polyethylene foam and the production of multilayer pipes .
Cross-linked polyethylene foam Zetacell CUPEX is a patent of 1980, and as already mentioned was an absolute novelty in the thermal-hydraulic field. It was the first copper pipe pre-insulated with a coating which would fulfill the law then in force for the containment of energy consumption (Law No. 373 of 30 April 1976).
The word CUPEX was created by combining the chemical symbols of the two used materials, that is to say CU (copper) + PEX (polyethylene). This shows that Zetaesse chose from the beginning to base its entire production on the cross-linked polyethylene foam (PEX), the unique material used for the covering of its products since 30 years.
Zetaesse in 1994 installed the first plant for the extrusion of polyethylene foam, and then becomes totally self-sufficient in terms of production.
The advantages of PEX compared to most other insulating materials are varied, the polyethylene is a material with high resistance both mechanical and thermal. This was soon recognized by the market that opens quickly to new opportunities. Many are the applications of this material, which can be used in addition to heating/plumbing field, even in the automotive, aeronautical, naval, in clothing, sporting and lots more.
The choice of Zetaesse to install two additional extrusion lines has the aim to diversify its production, in order to be able to embrace different sectors and continue its growth path.
Multilayer pipes Europex - Isopex By siding with copper pipes the production of multilayer pipes PE-X / AL / PE-X Zetaesse aims to fully meet the needs of its customers in the idro-termal-sanitary pipelines.
To do this, a "last generation" plant has been installed, unique for the ability both to extrude and to coat in the same production cycle a multilayer tube. An ambitious choice to remain, as always, point of reference in the field, thanks to the proven experience, reliability and commercial organization that have characterized so far the name of Zetaesse.
