The hydrogen is used as the trace gas. Hydrogen molecules are the smallest naturally occurring particles and can escape even through floor screed, insulation, and foaming materials. Due to its low viscosity and therefore high propagation speed, the gas reaches the leak very quickly and can even escape through the tiniest hole. Since hydrogen is lighter than air, the hydrogen molecules rise and the pipes can easily be checked from above.
With the help of the LOKTRACER TLD.500 or LOKTRACER TLD.1000, even the tiniest of leaks can be detected. The LOKTRACER contains a special sensor system. Both LOKTRACERs detect only H2, which means that the leak detection is absolutely reliable. Thanks to the LOKRING® tube connection technology the leak can be repaired on site – meaning no down time for the application due to pressure tests.
