Easy-to-retrofit diffuser opens up considerable potential
Significant lower noise level.
There is a whole range of options for designing and configuring particularly quiet and durable fans. The AxiTop diffuser from ebm-papst provides a significant improvement in noise and efficiency and sets new benchmarks.
The diffuser works like a reversed nozzle and, through its pressure-boosting effectiveness, reduces discharge losses substantially. Efficiency increases, while operating noise is reduced at the same time. Energy savings of up to 27 % and a simultaneous reduction of operating noise by 7.2 dB(A) are attainable. With the same power consumption, with the AxiTop-equipped fan, up to a 9% higher flow rate can be generated, at which there is approx. 4.9 dB(A) lower noise emission. The user saves energy and costs during operation; the design engineer can configure a refrigeration system with less heat exchanger surface area. The acoustic improvement is particularly of interest if fans are working in noise-sensitive environments.
The diffuser was already presented in 2012, was then further optimised and now, for the first time, is being used in fans of size 800 and 910 in series, further sizes are planned. It is merely 250 mm tall, consists of lightweight, durable plastic material and can easily be installed and retrofitted. An application design change is usually not required, even when retrofitting.
