Antifrogen® SOL HT - a ready-to-use solution for solar heating systems exposed to high thermal loads, in particular for use in vacuum tubes; based on higher boiling glycols. Antifrogen® SOL HT is a yellowish, clear liquid based on a aqueous solution toxicologically harmless higher glycols, which is used as a heat transfer medium in solar heating systems, especially those exposed to high thermal loads. It meets the requirements of DIN 4757, part 3, for solar heating systems. The product is inhibited without the use of nitrites, borate and phosphates. In addition, Antifrogen® SOL HT contains effective corrosion inhibitors that will give all metals commonly used in refrigerating and heating systems lasting protection from corrosion and scale. The product is premixed with deionized water to give a frost resistance of about -23 °C. Antifrogen® SOL HT was developed because of the increased use of vacuum collectors, which have a high stand-still temperature of up to +260°C. The usual heat transfer media, based on ethylene or propylene, tend to evaporate in such systems owing to the low boiling point of these glycols. They leave partially insoluble, salt-like residues that can lead to operating problems if the collector is frequently idle, which can result in failure of the system. The new product consists predominantly of higher-boiling, toxicologically harmless, higher-molecular-weight glycols with a boiling point of over +290°C at 1030 mbar and so the above-mentioned residues do not occur.
Official corrosion test certificates are available. The good corrosion-inhibiting properties of Antifrogen® SOL HT water mixtures decrease - as might be expected - with increasing water content.

  • Permanent usage temperatures: approx. -23 to +200 °C
  • Typical applications: Solar heating systems, even highly stressed collectors with vacuum tubes resp. solar heating systems exposed to high thermal loads
  • The corrosion inhibitor formulation is phosphate-, borate- and nitrite free
  • The optimization of the corrosion inhibition system was performed without the use of CMR-substances (cancerogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic)
