The company FUJITSU was founded in 1935 in Japan for the manufacturing of telephones and other communication appliances. Today the FUJITSU Group belongs with more than 170.000 employees and total revenues of approximately 40 Billion Euro to one of the world-wide leading producers for computers, multi-media products and telecommunication systems.
In 1984 the FUJITSU Group acquired the majority of shares from THE GENERAL CORPORATION, once Japan's market leader for home entertainment products, and renamed it in FUJITSU GENERAL LTD. After a period of consolidation in the 80-ies, FUJITSU GENERAL LTD. is today proud about becoming one of the main manufacturers for air conditioners and plasma displays. In 2005 the company employed more than 5.000 people and achieved yearly revenues of around 1,5 billions (Mrd. US-$). In order to comply with the high international quality standards, FUJITSU GROUP LTD. is only producing in fully self-owned factories (no Joint Ventures) located in Asia.
