Sentinel Monitoring System
The subject of the presentation is this the innovative IoT solution that comes as the results of a very tight cooperation between Regal’s brand Elco and a major Supermarket chain. Our goal is to demonstrate, also through a live simulated cabinet located in our booth, how the system supplies information about motor’s actual RPM, delivered torque and internal temperature. The current major challenge in supermarket’s cabinet maintenance is assuring key predictive maintenance data, this is to make sure that the cost and the timing dedicated to the regular maintenance/cleaning is also used to increase the efficiency of the overall system and reduce the risk of food spoilage during the operation. A further innovation lays in the total freedom for the engineers and the end- users to shape the performances of each fan in the cabinet that can now perform as desired in speed, direction and the other monitored parameters. We are also showing two major additional feature of the product, these being: - Night mode: the system can sense an external probe that would identify any special activity surrounding the cabinet, from people presence to reduce speed potentially hurting people, to open doors, night blind, and have controlling the fans to react reacting consequently to the detected event - Back up mode: in case of one fan getting blocked for any reason, typically ice formation between the fan blade and the venture, the remaining fans increase the speed to partially back up the lack of airflow and extend dramatically the temperature latency inside the cooler, keeping the product fresher longer. An additional safety measure is the on-the-cabinet and-on signal informing immediately audio and visually the need of attention reaction/ intervention in the cabinet. This is a killer feature for small type of size shops not connected to the web but are willing to maintain a close control on the unit internally with internal resources. This will be is the application of the future extending summarizing/ summing up knowledge, control and safety in the food business.
