Danfoss Turbocor® TTH/TGH High Lift Compressor
This presentation will introduce the new Danfoss Turbocor® TTH/TGH compressor, the world’s first oil free magnetic bearing compressor optimized for high lift applications. This new compressor extends the successful line of Danfoss oil free magnetic bearing compressors into demanding high lift applications such as heat pumps, heat recovery and air-cooled chillers in hot ambient climates. The design of the new compressor will be discussed, including features that allow it to operate at demanding high lift applications. These features include the two-stage back to back impeller design along with an integrated variable speed drive and permanent magnet motor that provides industry leading efficiency. Other features of the compressor will be discussed, including the capacity range, availability of low GWP refrigerants and operating map capabilities. Next, the presentation will describe the applications where the new high lift compressor can be used. Applications include heat pump operation, heat recovery and air-cooled chillers in hot ambient climates which typically have used screw compressor technology. The new Danfoss Turbocor® high lift compressor will give end users an alternative to screw compressor technology that offers higher efficiency and oil free operation. We will conclude the presentation by summarizing the benefits of using oil free magnetic bearing technology featured on this compressor. Oil-free operation with magnetic bearings delivers the best life cycle cost to end users through world class efficiency and the elimination of complex oil management systems, resulting in a simple chiller design that reduces risk of failure and maintenance. In addition, oil free compressors eliminate future performance degradation since there is no oil to affect performance of the chiller.
